Mentoring Tomorrow's Leaders

A Legacy of Mentorship

The Guide Right Leadership Program was established in 1922 as a national service program of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. It was created to implement a meaningful and practical approach to the challenge of youth underachievement. Today, our Central Virginia chapter carries forward this century-old tradition by providing direct mentoring to young men in the Charlottesville area and surrounding communities.

Our Focus

The program centers on personal development, academic achievement, college and career preparation, and community service. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for young men and their families in Central Virginia by providing programs, training, and events that build confidence, character, and competence.

Our Vision

To be recognized regionally and nationally as a leader in supporting the development of young men by providing experiences that enable them to realize their full potential.

Program Objectives

  • Educational Awareness — Inform youth about the value of higher education, available scholarships, fellowships, and professional counseling resources, as well as career opportunities and labor market trends.
  • Family Support — Assist parents and guardians by providing a network of successful professionals who can offer guidance and perspective on the challenges young people face.
  • Positive Engagement — Provide meaningful alternatives through sponsored enrichment activities, cultural experiences, and community service opportunities.
