Partnering With Schools and Communities
Virginia Chapter Foundation works directly with Central Virginia area high schools, their administrators, and district leaders to provide on-site mentoring that addresses the specific needs and challenges facing minority students. This ongoing collaboration helps schools decrease achievement gaps — particularly for African-American male students — while building meaningful relationships between students and mentors.
How It Works
Through monthly mentoring sessions coordinated with school officials, our volunteers provide consistent, reliable support that extends beyond the classroom. These partnerships give us visibility in the communities we serve and allow us to participate on school equity committees, advisory boards, and district-level initiatives focused on student achievement.
Our Commitment
We believe that civic engagement starts with showing up — consistently, authentically, and with a genuine desire to serve. Whether it's voter registration drives, community clean-up events, or advocacy for educational equity, we are committed to being active participants in the civic life of Central Virginia.
