What We Need From You
This page is for the chapter's eyes only. Below is everything we need to finalize your website. The site structure is built, the navigation works, and placeholder content is in place — but we need your real information to bring it to life.
1. Foundation & Chapter Details
We need the following basic information to replace placeholders throughout the site:
- Official foundation name (currently using "Virginia Chapter Foundation")
- Alumni chapter name (e.g., "Charlottesville Alumni Chapter")
- Mailing address
- Phone number
- Email address
- Tax ID / EIN number (for the donate page)
- Social media URLs — Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter (whichever the chapter uses)
2. Leadership / Officer Bios
The Leadership page needs real officers. For each officer, please provide:
- Full name
- Title (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, etc.)
- A headshot photo (see photo specs below)
- A 2–3 sentence bio (professional background, role in the foundation, education)
Number of officers we have slots for: 4 (can add more)
3. Scholarship Details
We have two scholarship pages built. For each, we need:
- Scholarship name (one is a named/memorial scholarship — we need the honoree's name and a brief description of their legacy)
- Eligibility county/region (which Virginia counties or school districts?)
- Application deadline
- Scholarship amount (if you want it listed publicly)
- Application form or link (PDF, Google Form, etc.)
4. Events / Calendar
The calendar page currently has placeholder events. Options:
- Option A: Send us a list of upcoming events (name, date, time, location, description) and we'll add them manually
- Option B: Share a public Google Calendar link and we'll embed it directly on the page
5. Donation Setup
The donate page is structured but needs a payment processor connected. We need:
- Payment platform preference — PayPal, Stripe, GoFundMe, Zeffy, or another service?
- Payment link(s) for one-time and recurring donations
- Sponsorship tier details (if different from what's currently listed)
6. Copy Review
Every page has interim copy written for a Central Virginia chapter. Please review each page and let us know:
- What needs to be rewritten to match your chapter's specific programs and history
- Any programs you don't run (so we can remove those pages)
- Any programs or pages you want to add
- Testimonials or endorsements from school partners, community leaders, or program participants
7. Photography — This Is the Big One
The site currently uses 22 stock photos from Unsplash. They look decent, but they're generic. Here's the full breakdown:
Photo Inventory
| Location | Type | Count | Currently |
|---|---|---|---|
| Homepage hero | Hero banner | 1 | Stock |
| About pages (3) | Hero banners | 3 | Stock |
| Program pages (7) | Hero banners | 7 | Stock |
| Scholarship pages (2) | Hero banner (shared) | 1 | Stock |
| Calendar, Donate, Fundraising, Contact | Hero banners | 4 | Stock |
| Gallery sections (13 pages) | Gallery grid | 6 unique | Stock |
| Leadership page | Officer headshots | 4 | Empty — need real photos |
| TOTAL | 26 | 22 stock + 4 empty |
What we recommend
Stock photos will work if that's the only option right now — the site already looks presentable with them. But to really make this site hit, you'll want original chapter photography. Here's what to prioritize:
- Must-have (4 photos): Officer headshots for the Leadership page. These are the only slots currently empty.
- High-impact (5–8 photos): Replace the homepage hero, Guide Right hero, Kappa League hero, and a few gallery shots with real chapter photos — group shots from events, mentoring sessions, scholarship ceremonies. These are the most-visited pages.
- Nice-to-have (10+ photos): Replace remaining hero banners and gallery images with chapter-specific photography. A single good photo shoot at an event or meeting could cover most of these.
Photo specs
- Hero images: Landscape orientation, at least 1920px wide, high resolution
- Gallery images: At least 800px wide, any orientation
- Officer headshots: Square crop preferred, at least 400x400px
- Format: JPEG or PNG
8. Contact Form Backend
The contact form is built but not connected to anything yet. We need to decide on a form service:
- Formspree (free tier, simple — emails go to an address you specify)
- Cloudflare Workers (since we're deploying to Cloudflare Pages)
- Google Forms (embed instead of custom form)
What email address should form submissions go to?
